The Ring of Death!
In the early years of Xbox 360 a majority of gamers had a serious problem with the “ring of death.” This was eventually mended by Microsoft, but some older Xboxs are still in circulation. The problem with this is the warranty time has passed. So you either have to buy a new one or get it fixed yourself. A lot of people out there will fix it for a fee, but why pay for something you can do for free? It is a simple process and it only costs like three U.S. dollars to fix. You will need to get yourself 8 pennies, electrical tape, and heat sync glue (or any glue that will not lose strength due to heat.) The most difficult part of the process is opening your 360. Once completely opened and the mother board is removed turn it over. There will be 4 cooling pads over computer chips, remove them. Take 2 pennies and wrap them in the tape securely. Glue the new Macguyvered cooling pads in the same spot as the other ones you just removed. Let the glue dry completely before you turn on the Xbox. This step is crucial, turn your 360 on, wrap it in every blanket you can find, at least eight blankets, and then let is sit on for at least 24 hours. This will cause the entire system to overheat and reset the sensors. If you do this incorrectly you have to just leave it on for longer. Be sure you use many blankets, the more the better, after all you can’t hurt the 360 any more than it already has been. Once the console has reset the system will run normally again. Enjoy and good luck to everyone.
